First burn: don't leave this job too early
During the first burn, let the candle stay lit for around 3 hours so the wax can melt as evenly as possible across the surface. This helps reduce tunnelling. Your colleague may leave early. The candle shouldn't.
Betrayal Safety Procedure
Burn bridges metaphorically. Not the office.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Even if someone has just brought farewell cake to the kitchen.
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep it away from paper, curtains and other flammable materials.
Keep away from children and pets. They don't need to witness this level of corporate betrayal.
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5 mm. Extinguish the candle safely using a candle snuffer or by cutting off the oxygen supply.
